Daniel Sacco, BS
Hometown:
Mount Olive, New Jersey
Degree earned from WPI:
B.S. Electrical and Computer Engineering
Why did you choose WPI?
Reasons why I chose WPI: projects, nice campus, non-rigid course scheduling
Current Employer:
Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics
Job Title:
Intern Systems Engineer
How did WPI’s philosophy of Theory and Practice, and working with teams, prepare you for facing real-world challenges in the workplace?
It helped me a lot, when starting at an entry level position in a company, the "advanced" theory learned in school isn't used very much. Most of what an entry level engineer does revolves around "practice". This makes the entry level engineer more valuable to the company.
Which Professor in Electrical and Computer Engineering was the most influential?
Working with Professor Taskin Padir on the Prometheus Project. (The WPI Prometheus Project won Rookie of the Year at the 18th Annual Intelligent Ground Vehicle Competition held at Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan in June 2010).
