David Cyganski, PhD

As Dean of Engineering, David Cyganski oversees six academic departments—Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil and Environmental Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Fire Protection Engineering and Mechanical Engineering --- which include disciplinary and interdisciplinary programs such as Aerospace Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering and Robotics Engineering. As Dean he is responsible for promoting WPI’s unique project oriented undergraduate program and the cutting edge engineering research efforts in which its faculty and graduate students engage in world class facilities such as the Gateway Park’s Biomedical Engineering and Fire Protection Engineering laboratories. Cyganski, who earned his PhD in Electrical Engineering at WPI, has held positions within WPI in the past ranging from Professor in Electrical and Computer Engineering to Vice President of Information Systems and Vice Provost. In these positions he played a pivotal role in the introduction of personal computers and network technology to the WPI campus as well as being a co-founder of the Robotics Engineering Program. Cyganski spent most of his academic career as a researcher in the fields of machine vision, radar, communications and development of technologies for first responders and has been the recipient of more than 65 research grants. He is a past recipient of the WPI Trustees' Awards for Outstanding Creative Scholarship, Outstanding Teaching Award and WPI highest award, the WPI Chairman’s Exemplary Faculty award. He was also awarded the Massachusetts State Fire Marshall Service award in 2012 for his contributions to technology for first responders.

Pam St. Louis
- Manager of Operations
Pam helps manage the strategic direction and day-to-day operations of WPI Engineering. Whether it be finance, HR, or faculty recruitment she wears many hats of different colors. Pam has been at WPI since 1996 working in the Mechanical Engineering Department. In her free time she enjoys attending cooking seminars and has a strong desire to learn to play the mandolin. In this office, Pam is the “left brain.”

Donna serves as the primary liaison with the engineering departments and programs to foster strategic connections and develop productive working relationships that engage and involve alumni, parents, friends, and industry partners with the university. Donna, the proud parent of a WPI graduate, has three other teenage children that keep her and husband Bill very busy. Donna is also a member of the Grafton School Committee.

Kim supports the Dean of Engineering office by organizing the dean’s calendar, assisting with projects, and communications. In her past career, Kim was a pilot in the military and in the commercial sectors. These days she stays busy keeping up with her three children and is a board member of Thomas Prince School’s PTA. In her leisure time she enjoys being creative with flea market finds.
