The department offers bachelor's, master's and doctoral degree programs. Facilities include the Advanced Materials Processing Laboratory; Aerospace Laboratory; Aluminum Casting Research Laboratory; Bioengineering Laboratories; Ceramic and Powder Metallurgy Processing Laboratory; Computer Laboratory; Computer Simulation Laboratory; Discovery Classroom; Electrochemistry, Tribology and Corrosion Laboratories; Engineering Experimentation Laboratory; Fluid Dynamics Laboratory; Heat Transfer Laboratory; Higgins Design Laboratory; Hydrodynamics Laboratory; Laser Laboratories; Manufacturing Laboratory; Mechanical Testing Laboratories; Nuclear Reactor Facility; and X-ray Diffraction Laboratory. Programs of study include aerospace, applied mechanics, biomechanics, computational mechanics, engineering design, fluid dynamics, thermo-fluids, energy systems, laser sciences and engineering, manufacturing systems, materials sciences and engineering, stochastic mechanics.
