Professor Nestinger is a faculty m ember in Mechanical Engineering and is affiliated with the Robotics Engineering Program and Department of Computer Science. He received his PhD in Mechanical and Aeronautical Engineering from the University of California, Davis in 2009. He is director of the Robotics, Mechatronics and Automation (RAM) Laboratory located in 124 Higgins Laboratory.
His research interests include real-time systems, software and systems integration, multi-robot systems, collaborative and cooperative systems, mobile agent systems, intelligent embedded and mechantronic systems, and distributed, evolutionary, and adaptive Control Systems. His current research focuses on the stability and workspace analysis of multi-legged robots, modular robots, soft- body systems, and bio- inspired locomotion.
