“You don’t have an idea if you haven’t written it down”

William "Bill" F. Troy

  • Adjunct Instructor, School of Business
  • Lecturer of Business at the University of New Hampshire

After a long career in high-technology global marketing, I decided to try another path and teach business at the college level, particularly marketing and economics. The opportunity to teach at WPI, while being on the full-time faculty at the University of New Hampshire, allows me to help technology-focused students understand the business imperatives  and pressures of technology innovation, invention, and market development, and it has been a great deal of fun for me. It is natural that the classic “introduction to business” class, has a global focus at WPI, since so many of the students will be creating globally relevant technology solutions.

With all the changes happening in marketing methods and global business, this course is a challenging and interesting one to maintain its currency and relevance. Marketing, in particular, is the fastest changing area of business.
