Xuemao Zhang

My main research interests are longitudinal data analysis and applied statistics. For longitudinal data analysis I focus on the GEE estimation of marginal models. Research subjects include bias correction of the GEE estimates for small samples, effects of working covariance structure on efficiencies of estimates and GEE estimation for data with time-dependent covariates. I am interested in data analysis in clinical trials and surveys as well.

I enjoy teaching which imparts knowledge and learning skills to students.  At WPI, I am involved in teaching both graduate and undergraduate mathematics and statistics courses. Teaching is fun and I enjoy interacting with students; I learn new things from students’ creative and critical thinking and fresh ideas as well.
