Celebrate Black History Month by Exploring Online Digital Collections

- “Our Art” Awards & Recognition for WPI Community Artists Many attended the reception last Thursday in the Class of '41 Gallery on the 3rd floor of the Gordon Library. Many folks mingled and discussed artworks on display. Dean Karen Oates made comments on the importance of the Arts at WPI. Dean of Library Services, Tracey Leger-Hornby welcomed visitors. Awards were given by Lora Brueck and the selection committee to recognize artists Joanne Beller, Scott Hadley, Tom Hunt, JoEllen Reinhardt, Marie Keller, and Ward Pettibone. Honorable mention were extended to Ryan Shooshan, Adriana Hera, Piyali Mazumdar, and Lori Willens. The reception was sponsored by the School of Arts and Sciences. Congratulations to all for sharing their work, which will be on display for the coming months so there is plenty of time to see the exhibit. We invite you to stop by sometime. >

You need to consider such issues as: Can I copy an image from a commercial Web site? May I use a chart or table from an article in my MQP, IQP, thesis or dissertation For online projects it is not enough to simply cite your source with a citation; copyright permissions are required for works under copyright protection. This workshop will explain basic copyright as it relates to your project as well as show you how to find free-to-use images and other resources for your project work. >
