Library Instructional Services
Gordon Library offers information literacy instruction sessions that range from general overviews of library sources and services to meeting faculty objectives for students - including using quality sources, building strong bibliographies, and avoiding plagiarism.
Connect to Library Resources and Services
Faculty, student groups, and other organizations can work with librarians to incorporate library resources into their course or community sites - using library skill-building assignments, library skill quizzes, and library content integration via linking electronic readings.
Research and Instruction librarians work with faculty to integrate library instruction into courses that contain a significant research component or require the use of specialized electronic or print resources.
Our instruction services involve one or more guest lectures during the term, aided with active learning activities. Instruction sessions provide information about sources and strategies for specific courses or assignments
We offer discovery sessions in the library or at other on-campus computer labs so that students can receive guidance throughout the research process. Students are encouraged to bring their own laptops to these sessions.
Librarians work closely with faculty to integrate library instruction into course sites to provide online tutorials to supplement in-class research instruction. If you're interested in having a librarian work with you to create online tutorials, such as those listed under Instructional Videos, please contact us.
