Exceptional Preparation from a Supportive Community
Known for our distinguished faculty, hands-on research, and strong interdisciplinary connections, the Mathematical Sciences Department prepares students to solve 21st-century problems with expertise and creativity.
Our department is comprised of 26 tenured and tenure track faculty members and 8 additional non-tenure track faculty members, as well as 8 post-doctoral scholars and 7 staff members. We have a current enrollment of 27 PhD students, 91 master’s students, and 174 undergraduate majors. In recent years we have experienced dynamic growth and momentum as mathematical sciences and their applications have played increasingly integral roles across a wide range of industries. As we continue to expand, we maintain a friendly and open community that supports the unique goals of each student.
With a head start, and learning in an environment that is both theoretical and practical, our graduates are prepared to enter the workforce with the confidence that is backed by a thorough understanding of their subject and the experience of collaborating with experts in the field. Our alumni work across a diversity of industries, including architecture, insurance and finance, healthcare, computer science, physiological and biological sciences, and a broad spectrum of engineering fields.
