Our Alumni

Countless doors are open to graduates of WPI’s Mathematical Sciences department. Because mathematics plays an integral role toward helping solve real-world problems across so many facets of society today, our alumni have important roles as software engineers, biostatisticians, actuaries, research analysts, and more across industries and technologies, including aerospace and transportation, insurance and finance, computer science, architecture and urban planning, healthcare, physiological and biological sciences, and engineering.

In the workplace, alumni find that WPI’s project-enriched approach to education was instrumental in preparing them, not only in their respective fields and career paths, but also with practical experience working collaboratively in a team across disciplines, as they would in the workforce. WPI’s philosophy of combining Theory and Practice also help alumni develop important research skills, while focusing on relevant problem-solving, giving them the skills and confidence needed in the workplace today.
