Your Career Choices Are More Numerous Than You Think
Mathematics and statistics are everywhere, present in every aspect of society today, as well as immersed in almost every industry. Today’s mathematicians have important roles across industries, including insurance and finance, technology, physiological and biological sciences, and engineering. Through modeling and analysis, mathematicians and statisticians are instrumental in helping to solve real-world problems that can impact industries, societies, and the environment.
Offering degrees at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, WPI’s comprehensive Mathematical Sciences department prepares future mathematicians and statisticians to solve tomorrow’s problems. It is also home to the Center for Industrial Mathematics and Statistics (CIMS), which supports the development of industrial collaborations at the undergraduate, graduate and research level with over 30 companies, businesses, and government labs. This well-rounded experience solidly prepares students for successful, rewarding careers in almost every sector and industry.
