Aerospace Engineering Students Win 1st and 2nd Team Prizes at AIAA Student Conference

Four undergraduate student teams from WPI’s Aerospace Engineering Program participated in the 2014 AIAA Region 1 Student Paper Conference held at Cornell University, Ithaca, NY between 25-26 April.

The “Experimental and Computational Investigation of a Dual Bell Nozzle” with AE students Katlin Davis, Elizabeth Fortner, Michael Heard, Hannah McCallum and Hunter Putzke, advised by AE Professor John Blandino, won 1st prize in the Team Category.   The “Design of a Micro Pulsed Plasma Thruster for a 3U CubeSat” with AE students Sebastian Eslava, Jordan Marchetto and Eric Scougal, advised by AE Professor Nikos Gatsonis, won 2nd Prize in the Team Category.
