Reasons for choosing Army ROTC Baystate Battalion:
I choose Army ROTC Bay State Battalion because I wanted to serve my country and continue my education. To me, ROTC seemed like the best way to achieve both those goals.
Present job title and employer:
I am currently an intern at Putnam Plastics Corporation. Being an intern there, I am slightly working in a field related to my Chemistry degree, due to the nature of extruding (making) plastic tubing.
Describe how Army ROTC prepared you for facing real-world challenges in the workplace or graduate school.
Army ROTC has prepared me for facing real -world challenges by expanding my time management skills. In the workplace and college, I have been given a number of tasks to complete in a limited time; because of Army ROTC, I am more able to successfully complete those tasks in the given time.
Groups or extracurricular activities you participate in at WPI:
- I am a member of Mu Sigma Delta, WPI's Pre-Health Society, which helps students who would like to go to medical, dental, veterinary, or other health graduate schools.
Academic or professional awards you have received:
- am a 4 year scholarship recipient of Army ROTC, and an Eagle Scout. In high school, I was awarded the United States Army Reserve National Scholar/Athlete Award. In ROTC, I was awarded the Military Order of the World Wars Bronze award for the most improved MS1 Cadet.
