The Morgan Center coordinates or assists with two WPI seminar and workshop series:

Food for Thought Teaching & Learning Series

The Food for Thought Teaching & Learning Series consists of 8-12 seminars and workshops each academic year, most often given by WPI faculty and staff. The purpose of this series is to stimulate dialogue and reflection on teaching and student learning, to exchange teaching ideas and evidence-based promising practices, and to showcase teaching and curricular innovations. Within this series each year, there are typically several events on Writing Across the Curriculum and Technology for Teaching and Learning.

Frontiers of Engineering Education - Educational Innovation Seminar Series

The Frontiers of Engineering Education - Educational Innovation Seminar Series brings national leaders in teaching and learning to the WPI campus on an annual basis.

Registration is requested for all events. All are welcome at all events, but we order food based on pre-registrations received up to three business days in advance of each event.

Presentation slides and handouts, and sometimes audio and/or video recordings, are archived on the Morgan Center's myWPI (Blackboard) site. To access, log on to myWPI and check your Organization listings. If the Morgan Center is not listed, go to the Community tab, do an organization seach for "Morgan", and enroll in the site.

Suggestions are welcome! Faculty, staff, and students with ideas for events should call (x5707) or email the Morgan Center to discuss ideas and timing. Please consider the following criteria for a Food for Thought event:

  1. The topic should be of general interest, stimulate broad discussion, and contribute to better teaching and learning at WPI.
  2. The session should be scheduled in one of the middle five weeks of the term--not the first or the last weeks.
  3. You will be asked for a title and brief abstract for use in advertising the session.
