A Faculty Dedicated to Success
The faculty brings expertise in each of the areas important to materials process engineering, including manufacturing systems and process design, analysis and control materials processing, and processing-structure-property relations in materials. Research topics in this program include lean manufacturing, electrospinning of polymers, cost analysis, fuel cells, computer-aided fixture design, surface metrology, and market analysis. The Graduate Industrial Internship
The Metal Processing Institute and the Materials Science & Engineering program at WPI have developed a series of industrial internships for MS and PhD students. The internship provides a valuable clinical experience as part of the educational process, allowing students to earn a master’s or doctoral degree in material science and engineering through a combination of internship experiences, online classes, and classroom activities.
