Using New Materials to Improve the Quality of Life
Students pursuing a BS in Materials Science & Engineering (MTE) will gain an understanding of the fundamentals of materials science and engineering and acquire the know-how to develop practical solutions to real-world needs and challenges.
A BS in this program prepares graduates to contribute to the quality of life by creating and improving products that people rely on every day, such as automobiles, computers, prosthetics, cell phones, and much more.
Materials engineers and materials scientists are continually in demand for positions in research, development, production, and management. Both government and industry—such as energy, electronics, aerospace, and medicine—are major employers.
