Finalists for the student competition

The first NanoWorcester Symposium in 2011, held at MCPHS, attracted 52 participants from central New England, twenty of whom presented posters. It was a friendly and enjoyable event, focused on nanoscience, nanotechnology, and nanomedicine.

Please participate in the second NanoWorcester Symposium on Saturday, March 17, 2012 at WPI.  This year, we shall feature a student "elevator-speech" and poster competition in the afternoon (anticipated prize pool of $1000), after a morning of talks by invited speakers from central New England and farther afield.  Web registration will close at 6:00 am on Monday, March 12th.  You may also register at the registration desk the day of the meeting.  Abstract submission is now closed.

The speakers, their affiliations, and their topic areas are:

Christopher Lambert, WPI Bioengineering Institute,
Self-Assembled Monolayers as Chemical and Biological Sensors
.

Evelyn Kurt-Jones, UMass Medical Center,
Size and Shape Matter:   Studying the Immune Response to Synthetic Microparticles.

Gerard D'Souza, MCPHS Boston,
Organelle-Targeted Intracellular Delivery.

Julie Chen, UMass Lowell,  CANCELLED due to illness
Nanomanufacturing of Polymers and Composites.

Thomas Vogt, USC Chemistry and Biochemistry,
Imaging at the Nanoscale.

Heinrich Hoerber, UBristol,
