Medical Scholars Program
WPI’s Pre-Medical Scholars Program provides select students, who are scientifically competent, ethically grounded, compassionate, and socially conscious, a unique opportunity to build their portfolios and present themselves as the most competitive applicants for entry into the health career of their choice. The Medical Scholars Program is designed for students who are committed to serving society.
Activities the Medical Scholars participate in include the MCAT and other practice exams, group visitation and tours to medical and veterinary school admission days, and personalized career counseling, which is available to all Pre-Health students at WPI regardless of their program of study or Medical Scholars designation.
The Medical Scholars Program also provides the unique benefit of a personalized honors seminar with the Dean of Arts and Sciences, informal luncheon discussions, mentored projects, and out-of-class activities directly related to the pre-health career of choice.
For the student seriously pursuing a medical career, this is a unique and exciting opportunity. Pre-Medical Scholars will automatically be selected from the admitted students who indicate an interest in the WPI Pre-Medical Program. Selection by the Scholarship Committee will be based upon the candidate's academic performance in high school, standardized test scores, or Flex Path submission.
In addition, each Pre-Medical Scholar receives an academic merit scholarship. Scholarship amounts will vary, but typically range between $10,000 and $25,000 and are renewable for four years.
