Camp Reach 2013 Summer Program
Camp Reach 2013 will run from July 21 through August 2, 2013. Applications will be available beginning February 8, 2013. Please check back for more information.
Camp Reach brings together a group of inquisitive girls the summer before their seventh-grade year, empowering them with two weeks of discovery and hands-on engineering to change the way the world works. Emphasizing the social context of engineering design—the girls work in teams with a community “customer” to create a plan for solving a real problem—Camp Reach keeps the connection with these girls by offering follow-up activities through high school.
This award-winning summer residential program is one of many K-12 educational outreach activities offered by WPI throughout the year for girls, underrepresented minority youth, other young people, and educators. Our aim, in keeping with a national priority, is to increase the technological literacy of K-12 students, teachers, and administrators, stimulating participation in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields and improving the quality of instruction in these disciplines.
For 15 years, Camp Reach has been making a difference. We are dependent on and grateful for the generous support of WPI alumni, friends, and committed organizations, including United Way of Central Massachusetts, Raytheon NCS, Teradyne, The New England Charitable Trust, Intel Massachusetts, and the Bose Foundation.
