Middle School Tours 2014-2015
All available tour dates for the 2014-2015 academic year have been filled. We may be able to accomodate a few groups individually. Please fill out the form below and a representative from the admissions office will contact you.
WPI is currently able to provide opportunities for middle school students to visit our college campus and to discover science and engineering with some of our top undergraduate students- the Engineering Ambassadors. These undergraduates have been selected to participate in an engineering leadership program. One of the goals of their program is to engage K-12 students in engineering activities through outreach. The Engineering Ambassadors help students discover the exciting world of engineering and demonstrate that engineers are creative problem solvers who are making a difference in our lives every day.
Groups that are organized and appropriately chaperoned by school teachers and/or volunteers will be considered for this program. Group sizes can range from 15 to 40 students depending on your need. Groups typically spend two to three hours on the WPI campus. In that time, the middle school students will participate in a hands-on engineering design activity led by the Engineering Ambassadors, take a tour of campus with one of our Crimson Key tour guides and learn from an Admissions Intern the steps they can take already to begin preparing for college. Transportation or lunch on campus can be funded for visiting groups whose population is mainly comprised of students who are eligible for free or reduced lunch. Available dates range from September through April, and space is limited.
To register for a session, please fill out the registration form and a representative from the admissions office will contact you shortly. Please note this program is designed for middle school students.
Anyone attending in the group will need to complete the Liability and Media Release form (.pdf) and bring upon arrival.
