Global Perspective Program Receives Boost from Anonymous Donors
Anonymous donors have established an endowed fund to help sustain and strengthen WPI's Global Perspective Program by addressing two urgent needs: supporting participation for highly qualified students who otherwise could not afford an off-campus project experience, and increasing program capacity to accommodate student demand. The gift includes a matching challenge to raise an additional $2 million for the fund.
The key purpose of the endowed fund is to support student participation in the Global Perspective Program. This new fund will provide grants of up to $7,500 to qualified students who would otherwise not be able to participate in an off-campus project experience.
This fund also will enable WPI to establish a new international project center aligned with student interest; with the opportunity to solve problems of importance for local communities and organizations; and with faculty capacity to establish contacts, build the student project program, and oversee its operation in the future.
"WPI's Global Perspective Program provides undergraduates with a transformative learning experience that is unlike any other, at any school. The lifetime value to the students, and to the lives touched by their projects is immeasurable," says the anonymous donor.
