Q: Who can attend Alumni Weekend?
A: Alumni Weekend is open to all alumni of WPI and their families. There will be classes celebrating milestone reunions, but a majority of the events throughout the weekend are for ALL alumni.
Q: Which classes are celebrating a reunion during Alumni Weekend in June?
A: Alumni in class years ending in 4 or 9 will celebrate milestone reunions in during Alumni Weekend.
Q: How can I found out who is attending to Alumni Weekend?
A: Once registration is open, the Alumni Weekend website – wpi.edu/+AlumniWeekend – will include a list of all alumni and friends planning to attend Alumni Weekend. Be sure to check back often for updates!
Q: What should I bring with me?
A: Photos of family and friends, memorabilia from your college years, a camera, a cell phone (phones are not provided in residence hall rooms), an alarm clock, an umbrella, extra blankets and anything else you may need to make your visit to campus more enjoyable.
Q: What if I forget my cell phone charger at home?
A: Cell phone charging stations are now available for a variety of devices throughout the Campus Center. Our guests are welcome to use these charging stations as they need them.
Q: Is transportation available on campus?
A: A shuttle service will be provided to transport guests around campus; however, off campus services to local hotels will not be available. Please note that some of the recommended hotels provide their own local shuttle transportation.
Q: Where can I park?
A: All WPI parking lots will be open throughout Alumni Weekend. Handicap Parking will be provided outside Alumni Gym. Please see Contact/Directions for more details.
Q: How and when do I check in to my on-campus accommodations?
A: If you register to stay on-campus, you will be staying in Faraday Hall. If you arrive between 8 am and 10 pm on your check-in day, you should go straight to Faraday to check in – there will be someone in the lobby to assist you. If you arrive after 10 pm, please go to the Campus Police office in Founder’s Hall to pick up your keys. Founder’s Hall is located on Boynton Street. You will receive an email with more specific information the week before Alumni Weekend.
Q: Are there facilities for people with disabilities?
A: We try to meet the needs of all of our guests. Please indicate on your reservation form if you have special needs or call the Office of Alumni Relations at +1-508-831-5600 so that we may discuss and accommodate your needs.
Q: What is the standard dress for the weekend?
A: Dress casually and comfortably for daytime activities. Business casual is recommended for Friday's 50-Year Associates Dinner and for class reunion banquets on Saturday evening.
Q: Are there places to shop on campus and near campus?
A: Visit the WPI Bookstore (Campus Center, main level) to purchase your WPI apparel and other items. Alumni will receive a discount valid during Alumni Weekend. You can also visit the registration desk for a list of local shops and restaurants.
Q: What will be served at each Alumni Weekend meal? Can WPI meet my dietary restrictions?
A: All Alumni Weekend menus can be viewed on the Alumni Weekend website. If you or any of your guests have special food requirements, please make a note on your registration. We try to meet the needs of all of our guests.
Q: How can someone contact me on campus during Alumni Weekend?
A: If anyone may need to contact you on campus in an emergency, please tell them that you can be reached through the WPI Campus Police at +1-508-831-5555.
