On April 2, 2014, scholarship donors and scholarship recipients celebrated this important tradition of philanthropy at the Annual Scholarship Program Dinner in the Campus Center Odeum. The evening's program included remarks from Interim President Phil Ryan ’65, Alumni Association President Myles Walton ’97, as well as scholarship recipients Kevin Hufnagle ’14 and Heidi Wyman ’14.
In a kickoff to the evenings events, we were greeted by President Ryan with a campus update, recognition of the many accomplishments of Dean William R. Grogan ’46 Grogan, and a heartfelt thanks to our scholarship donors.
President Ryan introduces the theme of the evening’s program – Paying It Forward – and its keynote and students speakers.
Foisie Scholar Kevin Hufnagle ’14, both a Computer Science and a Professional Writing Major, gives remarks about how his scholarship gave him strength, optimism and a world class education.
Heidi Wyman ’14, Environmental Engineering, gives remarks about being a grateful recipient of the Myles Walton Global Studies Scholarship and her intention to pay it forward.
Dr. Myles Walton ’97, President of the Alumni Association, remarks on being a former recipient of the Robert A. Foisie ’56 funded William Grogan ’46 Scholarship, and how it compelled him to fund the Myles Walton Global Studies Scholarship.
President Ryan closes by thanking our scholarship donors for "opening the door of opportunity for youth."
