Annual Events & Programs
WPI's campus is teeming with activity throughout the academic year. Our calendar is peppered with a multitude of traditional annual events. From New Student Orientation in the fall to Commencement in the spring, there is always something happening on campus.
Each spring for more than 140 years, WPI's graduating seniors cross Earle Bridge for the final time as WPI students. Their destination is the Quadrangle, where they are presented with their much-anticipated degrees by WPI's president. It's a time-honored tradition that WPI students look forward to from the first day of their matriculation. Visit the Commencement website for more information.
Homecoming is a time-honored tradition at many colleges and universities around the country, and WPI is no different. We embrace Homecoming each fall with the return of hundreds of alumni to campus. Homecoming Weekend events include a traditional pep rally and football game, parade of floats, freshman-sophomore rivalry contests, academic and admissions open houses, and many other events that allow us to greet old friends, make new connections, and celebrate our shared fondness for WPI. Visit the Homecoming website for more information.
Parents Weekend is a great time for parents to reconnect with their students and experience campus life at WPI. The weekend is filled with activities for the entire family, including athletic events, theatrical performances, WPI Parents College, cultural demonstrations, and many more activities designed to help families form a long-lasting connection with WPI. Visit the Parents Weekend website for more information.
New Student Orientation
New Student Orientation is a four-day program designed to introduce incoming students to campus life at WPI. It begins when members of the fraternities and sororities assist the new students and their families in moving into the residence halls. Orientation Leaders (OLs) direct many activities over this period including working with new students on a weeklong project and leading the students in activities that are not only fun but serve to immerse the new students into the WPI community. Find out more about >New Student Orientation.
Summer courses at WPI allow students to accelerate their studies, keep on track, or learn about a new subject in a more relaxed atmosphere with smaller classes. Visit the Summer Session website for more information.
