Assistant Professor
Position Description: The Biology and Biotechnology Department of WPI invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position to begin in the fall of 2011. Supported by the new Life Sciences and Bioengineering Center (LSBC) at Gateway Park, a state-of-the art, interdisciplinary research facility that opened Spring 2007, WPI is committed to further strengthening its capabilities in the life sciences and bioengineering arena. Applicants should have a Ph.D. in the life sciences area and significant research experience in neuroscience, with preference given to individuals studying mechanisms of neural degeneration and regeneration. The successful candidate will be committed to excellence in research and teaching, developing a robust, externally funded research program, and engaging in cross-disciplinary efforts in regenerative biosciences and engineering at the LSBC. Compensation, new laboratory space and resources for startup funding are competitive and commensurate with research experience and accomplishments.

Requirements: Candidates should have Ph.D., with postdoctoral experience, evidence of teaching excellence, an established record of research productivity, and demonstrated success or potential to secure research funding.
