Assistant Professor Bioinformatics

Position Description: The Departments of Biology and Biotechnology, and Mathematical Sciences of WPI invite applications for a tenure track Assistant Professor Position, to begin in the fall of 2011. Supported by the new Life Sciences and Bioengineering Center (LSBC) at Gateway Park, a state-of-the art, interdisciplinary research facility that opened Spring 2007, WPI is committed to further strengthening its capabilities in the Life Sciences arena. Applicants should have a Ph.D. in Bioinformatics/Computational Biology, Biology, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related area, and postdoctoral research experience. The successful candidate will be committed to excellence in research and teaching, developing a robust, externally funded research program, and engaging in cross-disciplinary work in bioinformatics and computational biology at WPI. Resources for startup funding are competitive and commensurate with research experience and accomplishments.
