WHAT:
Frontiers is a two-week, residential program for high school juniors and seniors that mirrors the hands-on, project-based approach of WPI's undergraduate program. Now in its 20th year, Frontiers blends academic coursework in topics such as mechanical engineering, physics, robotics, computer science and biotechnology, with diverse social activities, communication workshops, team-building exercises and field trips. Participants from public and private high schools throughout the U.S. choose an area of study and work directly with WPI faculty in their assigned sections of interest.
WHO:
More than 100 soon-to-be high school juniors and seniors will participate in this year's program. Attendees are from Massachusetts, California, Connecticut, Hawaii, Indiana, Louisiana, Maryland, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, and Vermont.
