WORCESTER, MA -- January 28, 2002 -- As the United States Congress, utilities, automotive manufacturers, and aerospace giants continue to press for cleaner and more efficient power alternatives, Worcester Polytechnic Institute is announcing its Fuel Cell Research Center will be the benefactor of a $10,000 research endowment, issued as part of a nearly $100,000 NASA grant to Advanced Technology Products, Worcester, MA.
The Fuel Cell Research Center at WPI is an industry-university alliance formed to further fuel cell technology through research and development of fuel cells and related components, and to educate and prepare graduate and undergraduate students for careers in fuel cell technology. The center also facilitates technology transfer between University research and the industrial community.
WPI, Advanced Technology Products, and Congress James P. McGovern will announce the grant on Thursday, January 31, 2002 at 3:00 in a ceremony at WPI's Campus Center, Odeum Room.
