WORCESTER, Mass. - June 24, 2002 - KILROY, WPI's sketch comedy group will hold open auditions for its feature length film, "Disc," on the Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) campus in Worcester, MA. on June 26.

Started last year, the group has successfully conquered the odds in producing several comedy shows featuring high quality, pre-filmed sketches. This summer, the group has decided to tackle an even greater challenge. The group has written a feature-length film script and will be shooting the film in and around WPI and Worcester.

The "Disc" script features a zany cast of wacky characters who form a rag-tag Frisbee team and must overcome all obstacles, including themselves, to win the championship Frisbee game, in what is a hilarious sendup of the classic 80's sports movie.

"Throughout the school year, we challenge ourselves to create this quality filmed material. When we had the time to work on something without classes or other extra curricular activities in the way, we realized that we were ready to tackle a full-length movie," said Chad Pytel, graduate of WPI, and producer of "Disc."

The group is also seeking funding to supplement the cost of producing a full length movie, offering to do yard work and other odd jobs in an effort to raise the money they need.

"I'm supposed to be some great artist, and I'm mowing the lawn, but I do it for the love of the game," jested Eric Pope, a junior at WPI, and Assistant Director of the film.

The open auditions for Disc will be Wednesday, June 26th from 6:00PM-9:00PM in the Taylor Room of the WPI Campus Center. Visit http://www.kilroysketch.com/disc for more information on auditions, or information on how to donate to the project.
