WPI’s M.W. Theatre Co. to Present 'Dog Sees God: Confessions of a Teenage Blockhead'

WPI’s M.W. Repertory Theatre Co. will present Bert V. Royal’s Dog Sees God: Confessions of a Teenage Blockhead at 8 p.m. Feb. 5-7 at the university’s Little Theatre, located behind Sanford Riley Hall. Tickets cost $5.

What

Worcester Polytechnic Institute’s (WPI) M.W. Repertory Theatre Co. will present Dog Sees God: Confessions of a Teenage Blockhead, written by Bert V. Royal. Dog Sees God is a dark comedy that examines the more disturbing side of the American teenage years. The play follows characters parodying the beloved characters of Charles Schultz’s Peanuts cartoon through the challenges that confront modern teenagers, from drug use and eating disorders, to sex and sexuality.

(Due to the mature nature of the production, children under the age of 17 will not be admitted.)

Who

Approximately 40 WPI students are involved in this production by M.W. Repertory Co., which has presented plays at WPI since 1989. This play will be directed by student Richard Pavis and produced by Andrew Wilkins. M.W. Repertory Theatre Co. is one of several theatre groups at the university. Masque, VOX, Sunburns Theatre (summer theatre), and Student Comedy Productions (improvisational comedy troupes) bring the WPI community about eight productions a year. In addition, New Voices, begun in 1982, is the nation’s longest running annual festival of new plays written, directed, and performed by college and university campus community members.
