Family & Friends

WPI’s Commencement Exercises are a time of celebration for our graduates, their families, and friends. Both the Baccalaureate and Commencement Ceremony are held on the Quadrangle under a tent where there are 7000 chairs to accommodate guests. These ceremonies will be streaming live on the WPI website. The ROTC Commissioning is held in Alden Memorial.

WPI’s Commencement Ceremony lasts approximately 3 hours. Tickets are not required and there is no limit to the number of guests each graduate may bring. In addition to seating on the Quadrangle, there will be indoor auxiliary viewing in Alden Memorial and the Odeum in the Rubin Campus Center after 10am on Saturday. In the event of rain, ponchos will be available for our students and guests, as well as plastic bags to cover student diplomas. All graduates will receive their diplomas when their name is called and they walk across the stage.

We appreciate your understanding as our security personnel will be conducting random checks of camera bags, backpacks, and other large items on Commencement day.

Details about the ceremony and getting around the campus can be found below.
