Gateway Park On the Air
Gateway Park on the Air
As the WPI Life Sciences and Bioengineering Center at Gateway Park has gone from a dream to a dramatic presence in the Worcester skyline, curiosity about the project and about the groundbreaking research that will take place there has mounted in the greater Worcester community.
Local residents have been able to get the inside scoop on this project, which will have a significant impact on WPI's future economic development, by tuning into three recent broadcast programs.
- In November 2006, D'Anne Hurd, vice president for business development at Gateway Park and WPI's legal counsel, joined then Worcester Mayor (and current Massachusetts lieutenant governor) to discuss Gateway Park on the local cable access program "Mayor's Forum". Watch the program.
- In January 2007, D'Anne Hurd was a guest on "Academically Speaking," the weekly radio program of the Colleges of Worcester Consortium, to discuss Gateway Park. Listen to the program.
- Also in January, Eric Overström, head or WPI's Biology and Biotechnology Department, appeared on "Academically Speaking" to discuss the exciting research underway at WPI in the area of regenerative biology, work that will continue in the Life Sciences and Bioengineering Center. Listen to the program.
