WPI Alumnus Highlights WPI's Project-Based Learning in Blog for Technology Teachers
WPI graduate David Andrade ’92 recently wrote an article about WPI’s project-based curriculum for an audience of high school-level technology teachers in the Tech & Learning blog. In his article, Andrade explains the philosophy of the WPI Plan, WPI's innovative approach to undergraduate education, and positions the university as an innovator in STEM education. He details how WPI’s style of learning could greatly benefit K-12 education and points out that project-based learning can engage students while also teaching them content and other necessary skills. He concludes the article with a rather profound nod to his experience at the university: "I found that my WPI education has taught me more than the STEM subjects, it has taught me valuable skills that have allowed me to be successful as a teacher, paramedic, engineer, manager, consultant, and husband."
