Dr. Henry Michael Strage
Henry Strage is a former Senior Director of McKinsey & Company. During his thirty years of active service, he directed major studies for global enterprises in the pharmaceutical, engineering, energy, chemical, financial, high technology and electronics industries. His assignments involved work on a broad range of top management problems while concentrating on international strategy, marketing, global management, industrial restructuring and cross-border mergers and acquisitions.
In addition to assignments in the private sector, Dr. Strage directed studies in the public sector at the local, regional, national and international level. He has completed assignments in the fields of national economic development, health care policy, education, transport, disaster relief, local government and social welfare in the UK, Switzerland, France, Germany, Israel, Ireland, Africa and South East Asia. In addition to working for the UNDP, UN Narcotics Program, and the World Food Program, he has worked with the European Economic Community as well as the UK Prime Minister's Think Tank.
He served the UK Government as the First Chairman of the National Economic Development Organization's Food and Drink Manufacturing Sector. He helped found the International Association of Gifted Children and the Major Projects Association at Oxford University. He is one of the original founders of the Jerusalem Institute of Management, taught in their advanced management program for many years, and served for 15 years as Chairman of the UK-Israel Project Renewal Program.
Henry Strage has continued his professional career in a wide range of international and national activities. He was a Professor of Strategic Studies at a European Business School and has taught and lectured at several other leading Business schools in Europe and the United States as well as in Israel, Russia and Slovak Republic. He currently serves on the Dean's Advisory Board to two major US Universities.
In 1992 after the end of the Decade of the Disabled, Henry Strage helped establish the International Disability Foundation headquartered in Geneva and went on to serve as its first Chairman under the leadership of former UN Secretary General Perez de Cueller. He was also a non-executive Director of a major Israel Chemical Company.
Dr. Strage continues to provide independent management consulting advice to companies in Europe and the United States. He currently is a trustee to several international charitable organizations, as well as serving as Chairman of an active Family Foundation.
He has earned a B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering from WPI, an MBA from Columbia University and a PhD (honoris causa) from Worcester Polytechnic Institute. In addition to numerous published articles, guest lectures, appearance on BBC World Service, he has written a well-reviewed book, published by Blackwell's entitled Management Milestones and is currently working on several other writing projects.
