On behalf of the WPI Faculty and Staff Trustee Challenge Committee, we welcome you all back for another great year. We had great success with the Faculty Staff Trustee Challenge last year, nearly doubling the number of staff who gave to the challenge. Over 220 staff made contributions to support student financial aid, and school departments. Every day we make important contributions to the life of this vibrant university and as a result of our success, two Trustees, (who wish to remain anonymous) have decided to match dollar-for-dollar any faculty/staff donations (cash and securities) to the university between now and June 30, 2012. The matching funds will be used to create an endowed fund for student financial aid.
The purpose of the Trustee Challenge is twofold: First it assists financial aid, a critical area for the school. It benefits departments (you can even support your own!), and important projects that the school supports. Secondly, the challenge recognizes your wonderful work and dedication to WPI. Having a diverse constituency (alumni, parents, faculty, staff, seniors and foundations) participate in supporting the school not only appears in national rankings but also, demonstrates how invested the school is in its success. Participation is more important then the amount you give and the Trustees hope their match will inspire you to do so. A little amount goes a long way.
