What is it?
Gifts from current and previous parents are directed to the WPI Parents Fund, a special component of the Annual Fund. Since its founding almost 150 years ago, WPI’s core mission has been to advance science and engineering knowledge for the betterment of the world in which we all live. Parents Fund gifts position the university to make strategic investments necessary to expand academic offerings, the awarding of financial aid to deserving and talented students, and through the attraction and retention of world-class faculty and researchers. Further, they help bridge the gap between tuition revenue and the actual cost of educating a student; they provide the means to take advantage of unanticipated opportunities for academic entrepreneurship that emerge throughout the year.
The support of parents helps WPI maintain its position as a leader in higher education, and demonstrates a special vote of confidence in the university and its mission. Each and every gift is meaningful, and every annual gift has an immediate and powerful impact on current WPI students.
Your Gift Counts!
Any gift –regardless of size– will support the education and development of today’s students and tomorrow’s global leaders. By raising alumni and parent giving participation rates, one of the metrics upon which many university rankings are based, we safeguard the prestige and value of a degree post-graduation.
Parent participation continues to grow each year, with contributions to the Parents Fund totaling $112,000 from 838 WPI parents this past year. We extend a special thanks to this group for supporting the programs that mean so much to our students!
To compete with our peer institutions, and to continue to advance science and engineering knowledge it is imperative that we continue to raise unrestricted funding. This year our goal is to raise $120,000 from 875 parents. Please click the button below and make a gift to the Parents Fund today!
