About Senior Class Gifts
The presentation of a Senior Class Gift to the University is a longstanding tradition at WPI, serving as a point of pride for alumni returning to campus in later years. From the pair of oak doors at the west entrance of Boynton Hall (Class of 1931), to the famed Beech tree (Class of 1943) or the bronze statue of Gompei on the Quad (Class of 2009), the gifts presented by departing seniors represent some of WPI’s most enduring landmarks.
Supporting the Senior Class Gift campaign provides students with the opportunity to leave a tangible legacy in partnership with classmates that will enhance the WPI experience for countless students in the generations to come. Gifts from members of the senior class also help to increase WPI’s annual donor participation levels, one metric upon which many college rankings are based. WPI’s national ranking has a direct impact on the value and prestige of a degree post-graduation, boosting salary levels, employment opportunities, and acceptance into highly-rated graduate programs.
