Envisioning an integrated technological campus
The Chief Information Officer (CIO) is the campus executive responsible for leveraging technology to advance the mission of WPI. The CIO fosters collaboration with WPI divisions and departments to meet academic, research, administrative and student needs for technology and access, and to promote innovation with a long-term view.
CIO, Deborah Scott leads the Information Technology Services Division and oversees a broad range of IT strategies and services for WPI. This includes Academic Research Computing, Academic Technology Center that provides tools for teaching and learning, Enterprise Information Systems, Hosting Services for administrative and academic software applications, Support Services, Networking, Telecommunications, Information Security, and high-speed Internet2 through the Goddard GigaPop to both WPI and surrounding colleges and nonprofit organizations.
Deborah leads through a collaborative process; empowering IT staff to partner at all levels within the organization to provide technology solutions for WPI. IT staff foster strong working relationships across campus that inform the vision of IT that enables and supports the academic mission.
