President
Worcester Polytechnic institute is led by President Dennis Berkey. Berkey was named the 15th president of WPI in 2004 after more than 30 years of service in higher education.
Board of Trustees
WPI’s Board of Trustees, created in 1865, consists of 29 current members, including President Berkey. The Board of Trustees is responsible for the overall direction of the Institute. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to; approving the annual budget, tuition and fees; establishing policy guidelines affecting all institutional assets; reviewing and approving proposed major changes in the Institute’s academic programs; and overseeing campus real estate and long-range physical planning.
The Salisbury Group
The Salisbury Group is comprised of 10 members of the senior administration. Responsibilities of this group include, but are not limited to; strengthening WPI’s financial operations and performance; increasing applications for undergraduate and graduate admissions; and improving communications with WPI’s many constituencies, including alumni.
