Internships

Counseling Psychology Internship Opportunities

Graduate students can take advantage of exceptional training opportunities in counseling psychology through the Student Development & Counseling Center (SDCC). We provide a comprehensive and supportive experience for our interns, who participate in outreach programs such as our nationally recognized Student Support Network. Our training program includes:

  • One-hour weekly supervision
  • One-hour dyad (two-person) supervision
  • Orientation period with intensive training on key topics such as safety assessment
  • Weekly team meetings that include training seminars and case conferences

Because SDCC student interns quickly become members of our clinical team, it is recommended that applicants complete their first practicum or have prior mental health experience before applying. All applications will be reviewed, however. The SDCC has been the practicum site for many graduate counseling programs, including:

  • Antioch University New England
  • Assumption College
  • Boston College
  • Boston University
  • Lesley College
  • Massachusetts School of Professional Psychology

Apply for an Internship

The SDCC traditionally hires two clinical interns per academic year. We will begin reviewing applications January 14, 2013. If interested please submit a cover letter, resume, and three letters of recommendation to:
