Internships

Counseling Psychology Internship Opportunities

Graduate students can take advantage of exceptional training opportunities in counseling psychology through the Student Development & Counseling Center (SDCC). We provide a comprehensive and supportive experience for our interns, who also participate in outreach programs such as our nationally recognized Student Support Network. Our training program includes weekly:

  • One-hour weekly supervision
  • One-hour dyad (two-person) supervision
  • In-service trainings on a variety of presenting issues
  • Two hour clinical team meetings

SDCC interns quickly become members of our clinical team after completing a comprehensive orientation period that focuses on crisis assessment and intervention. Our interns see an average of 10-12 students per week and complete their own intakes. This is a fast-paced setting and prior mental health work and/or first year practicum experience is preferred. The SDCC has been the practicum site for many graduate counseling programs, including:

  • Antioch University New England
  • Assumption College
  • Boston College
  • Boston University
  • Lesley College
  • Massachusetts School of Professional Psychology
