Internships
Qualified graduate students are invited to take advantage of exceptional training opportunities in mental health counseling through the SDCC. The SDCC provides interns with a comprehensive, supportive experience that also allows them the opportunity to participate in outreach programs such as the nationally-recognized Student Support Network.
After completing a comprehensive orientation period that focuses on crisis assessment and intervention, SDCC interns quickly become members of the clinical team. Interns see an average of 10-12 students per week and complete their own intakes. The SDCC is a fast-paced setting, and prior mental health work and/or first-year practicum experience is required.

The SDCC traditionally hires 2-4 clinical interns per academic year, and will begin reviewing complete applications in December. If interested, submit a cover letter, resume, and three letters of recommendation to:

Intern Training
SDCC interns participate in a training program that includes:
- One-hour a week individual supervision
- One-hour a week group supervision
- In-service trainings on a variety of presenting issues relevant to college population
- Weekly staff meeting
- Training in Titanium scheduling
- Observation and participation in Student Support Network Training
