As founding Managing Director, Vera is establishing and leading the Healthcare Delivery Institute at WPI. She is responsible for the overall strategy and leadership of the institute. Tice is a strategic and operational leader with a progressive career in building, leading, and advising organizations engaged or investing in research and development for the healthcare, medical device, and mobile telecommunications industries. She co-founded the Healthcare Delivery Institute and a remote healthcare technology company and held various business and R&D engineering leadership positions at both startup and Fortune 100 / Global Fortune 500 technology companies. She has established and led businesses and organizations to bring new technology-based systems, products, and services from concept to market to innovate and improve healthcare across the continuum of care (from acute and primary care, to home, community, and other forms of remote healthcare).
Prior to joining WPI, Tice held positions as chief operating officer, vice president, and senior director with healthcare technology companies and led her own consulting company. She has also held various senior management and engineering positions in research and development with Nokia and Hewlett-Packard's Medical Products Group, now Philips Healthcare. Tice holds a master of science in electrical and computer engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute and a bachelor of engineering with high honor in electrical and computer engineering from Stevens Institute of Technology. She also completed international executive management and general management leadership development programs at Nokia and Hewlett-Packard, respectively.
