Welcome to the Herd! We look forward to welcoming you to campus in August during New Student Orientation (NSO) – Throughout the Summer, follow these 10 steps so you’ll be ready to begin your WPI experience!

Important note: All students will need to log into the FYE Hub site starting in May 2024 to complete these tasks. 

Set Up WPI Account and Complete Onboarding

• Reference the First Time Login instructions to set up your student account. If you have difficulty, please contact the WPI helpdesk at its@wpi.edu. 
• Complete Student Onboarding Tasks in Workday. Follow these instructions for more information. 
• Complete these tasks by May 31.  
• Check your WPI email regularly. 

Complete the Math Placement Exam

• Access the math placement exam on Canvas.  
• Please complete the math placement exam before attending your First Year Welcome Experience Day. 
• Students who intend to register for a math course in the Fall semester are required to complete the math placement exam before course registration! 

International Students: Submit Visa Documents 

• Review the visa process. 
• Complete the Certification of Finances form and email it to the Admissions Office (intl_admissions@wpi.edu) or mail to WPI, Bartlett Center, 100 Institute Road, Worcester, MA 01609-2280. The admissions office will issue you an I-20 once they have received this form. 

Register for a First-Year Welcome Experience   

• In-person and virtual FYWE sessions are held from June 3 – June 14.  
• Visit the First-Year Welcome Experience site to register and learn more. 

Begin Course Registration During Your First-Year Welcome Experience Day 

• Visit the course registration section of the FYE website for guidance on the courses recommended for your major. 
• Course Preference Surveys are due by June 30.  
• If requesting accessibility accommodations in or out of the classroom, please complete the Online Intake Form and attach supporting documentation. 

Select Housing and Meal Plans 

• Log into the housing portal using your WPI credentials. Complete the housing application by June 30. 
• Students seeking Housing Accommodations will fill out the Accommodated Housing Form and the Disability Verification for Housing Form. Apply for accommodated housing by Friday June 14. 
• Select your Meal Plan by July 19 in the Housing Portal. 

Submit Health and Wellness Forms 

• View the Health Forms Checklist to see what forms you will need so that you can begin gathering the required information and documents. 
• Upload your Health Forms on the Student Health Portal. 
• Health forms are due on June 27. 

International Students: Apply for Your Student Visa

• Once you have your I-20 form issued by WPI’s Admissions office, you can apply for a student visa.  
• Inform the WPI Office of Admissions of your visa type. Allow several weeks to complete the visa application process.  
• View the steps for How to apply for a visa. 

Submit your Final Transcripts and AP/IB Scores 

• Send final transcripts to the Admissions Office by July 31. 
• Submit AP/IB scores through College Board to the WPI Registrar’s Office by July 1. 

Financial Aid and Tuition Payment Consultation 

• Review the Tuition and Financial Aid website and your financial aid portal to complete requirements. Select “Current Student” when accessing the portal. 
• Check your WPI email in July for details regarding the WPI e-Bill Workday system. Learn more about electronic billing.
• Learn more about bill payment options and plans.

After receiving an email with your PIN...

• Set up your WPI email account right away and check it regularly. Note: All important student information is communicated to you through your WPI email account. This includes tuition payment information. We suggest you check this email account often.
• Connect with your new classmates on the Official Class of 2028 Discord Server. Transfer students are also encouraged to join!
