The American Society of Mechanical Engineers Honors Kristen Billiar

Kristen Billiar was recently honored by being elected a Fellow of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME).  He becomes the first member of the WPI BME Department to be so recognized.

With over 130,000 members in more than 158 countries worldwide, ASME is a not-for-profit professional organization that enables collaboration and knowledge sharing through ASME codes and standards, publications, conferences, continuing education and professional development programs as well as promotes the role of the engineer in society.

Approximately 3,000 members (~2%)  have attained the grade of Fellow. Additionally, Dr. Billiar was recently elected to the Board of Directors for the Biomedical Engineering Society, elected to the Executive Board of the Bioengineering Division of ASME, and appointed as an Associate Editor for the ASME Journal of Biomechanical Engineering.

Please join me in congratulating Associate Professor Kristen Billiar.
