Jeff LeBlanc

I've been a software engineer, specializing in user interface / user experience projects, since soon after I graduated from WPI. As an adjunct faculty member, I like being able to bring my real-world experiences into the classroom.

I learned to care about user interfaces when I worked in the field of cardiac monitoring where I met many highly educated medical professionals who excelled in their field, but were not as "tech savvy" as we engineers. Few things make you hope you got your interface design done right like seeing a family member in the hospital, hooked up to a monitoring device you worked on! It is that kind of experience I share in the classroom. Even if they don't go on to become user experience practitioners, I try to instill in them a sense of awareness about the people who eventually use the software they create, and how it can affect their lives.

I am also a nationally certified archery coach and love being outdoors hiking, kayaking, or snowshoeing.
