More than an Academic Experience

Launch will take place August 3, 2020, to August 7, 2020. During this virtual program, participants will spend either their morning or afternoon diving into a STEM discipline of their choosing with current WPI faculty. During Launch, students will also be able to take advantage of some fun additional activities that will complement their virtual experience. See below regarding information on our technical webinars, orientation and virtual activities.

This is an example of a schedule of "A Day in the Life" of a Launch participant. Launch events offered in the evening to accommodate student schedules and time zones. Please note timeframes given are based on Eastern Standard Time, U.S.

Orientation

On Sunday, August 2, 2020, Launch Virtual will be offering a student and family orientation to share available resources, get set up on the online learning platforms (Zoom and Canvas), and have live conversations with the WPI Community.

Our orientation schedule will include:

Virtual Activities

WPI is known for the community we build with one another each and every day. We are going to bring this same community we know and love to our virtual program. Our mission is for high schoolers to build connections and make lasting bonds with students with similar interests from around the world while connecting them to current undergrads, staff and faculty at WPI.

Technical Webinars

On Friday, July 31, 2020 our office will be hosting a number of webinars on the technology that registered students will use during their virtual experience in August. Information webinars will include:

  • Zoom Web Conferencing
