We offer financial assistance and scholarship opportunities in our summer programs through general tuition assistance, the Summer Scholars Program, or scholarships for the Frontiers program.

General Tuition Assistance (all academic programs eligible)

Financial assistance is available to families with need. To receive aid, parents or guardians must provide the family’s adjusted gross income as reported to the IRS for 2016. To apply, applicants should check off that they wish to be considered for financial assistance on the application/registration form. If selected, the applicant will be notified about the amount of the award in the acceptance email.

Summer Scholars Program (Spark, Ignite, Launch, and Frontiers Programs)

Community partners, mentors, teachers, guidance counselors.....Do you know of an underrepresented or underserved Worcester community student who has a strong academic record, an interest in STEM and can demonstrate financial need?

WPI is offering opportunities for eligible students who are entering grades 4 - 12 to attend one of our summer programs at no cost.  Students who are accepted in the Summer Scholars Program will also be invited to return for subsequent no-cost summer opportunities.  Preference will be given to students from Worcester Public Schools.

How To Nominate a Student: All you need to do is complete this Nomination Form by March 1. We ask that you reach out to the student prior to nominating them so you can provide the family's contact information.  Once you complete the nomination form, we will reach out to the student and family.

Completing the Student Application: Students, if you have been nominated, congratulations!  You should have been sent a Summer Scholars application to complete. If you should have been contacted, but did not, please contact our office. Students applying to the Frontiers program should complete the Student Scholars Application Form and the Frontiers application. All applications are due by March 31. Notification of decisions will be sent by April 15.

Scholarship Opportunities (Frontiers Program)

Frontiers offers a limited number of partial tuition assistance scholarships that are awarded based on a family’s demonstrated financial need, a student’s academic achievement and promise, and the availability of funds. We operate independently of WPI’s Office of Student Aid & Financial Literacy.

We cannot guarantee that all eligible applicants will receive aid. Applicants will be considered for tuition assistance only after we have received all completed admissions and tuition assistance materials, and if they have been accepted into the program.

WISE Scholarship for previous Camp Reach participants: WPI is proud to offer $500 Women in Science and Engineering (WISE) Scholarships to outstanding young women enrolling in the Frontiers Program this summer. This scholarship will be offered to a select group of participants of the Camp Reach program only who will be juniors or seniors in high school this fall. Please complete this application by March 31. Notification of decisions will be sent by April 15.

FIRST Dean’s List: The FIRST Robotics Dean’s List Winners are offered the opportunity to attend either session I or session II of Frontiers. The scholarship will cover the full tuition of either session for the Frontiers Program. For those students who are unable to take advantage of the summer offer, $2,000 would be applied towards the tuition for undergraduate enrollment of the fall of 2018. The scholarship will be available to any Dean’s List Winners only.
