The Advancing Women’s Impact in Mathematics Symposium, New England (AWIMS) is a one-day event taking place on the campus of Worcester Polytechnic Institute. This symposium aims to strengthen the network of women in the mathematical sciences in the New England region by providing an open and collegial atmosphere that promotes sharing, learning, and networking. We hope to help foster new collaborations between junior mathematicians and more experienced colleagues.
AWIMS will include plenary talks, technical tutorials and a discussion panel in academic and industry careers. Graduate students and early career professionals are enthusiastically encouraged to apply to present their research in our contributed talks sessions or poster session. This symposium includes diverse areas of mathematical research, that are well represented in the New England region, such as analysis, differential equations, data science, dynamical systems, mathematical biology, numerical analysis, optimization, scientific computing and statistics.
