Safety & Security

While WPI works diligently to maintain a safe campus environment, anyone can be a victim of crime. But there are measures you can take to make yourself less vulnerable. By learning ways to keep yourself and your friends safe while on and off campus, you significantly reduce your chances of becoming a victim of crime.

WPI has many services in place to help insure the safety of our campus and our community members:

Campus Police

The WPI Police Department is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. In addition to coordinating safety and security on campus, Campus Police also supervises the SNAP escort program and the EMS program. View the Campus Police website for more information.

Emergency Preparedness

WPI's Emergency Preparedness Team (EPT) responds promptly and effectively in the case of a natural disaster or other emergency occurring on or affecting the WPI campus and its community. The EPT works together to manage a crisis from beginning to end. Learn more about Emergency Preparedness at WPI.

WPI Alert is WPI's Emergency Notification System that sends messages to the mobile or fixed device of your choice so you get emergency messages quickly wherever you are.  WPI Alert notifies all WPI community members of any emergency occurring on campus, or otherwise affecting the members of the WPI Community. Learn more about WPI Alert.
