This is the institutional digital repository for Gordon Library's Archives & Special Collections department. Archives & Special Collections actively collects, preserves, and makes available university records, collections and works of enduring value. In support of institutional and library missions, the department provides services to the WPI community, scholarly researchers, and the broader public.

Theo Brown was a noted John Deere engineer and a member of the WPI Class of 1901. From 1893 to 1971, Brown kept a series of diaries (65 volumes, approximately 24,000 pages) detailing his career at Deere, day-to-day family life, and events.

Woodbury and Company, founded in 1879 by John C. Woodbury, WPI class of 1873. The company was one of Worcester's leading graphic arts companies for more than 123 years, closing in 2002.


WPI Innovations include patents belonging to WPI faculty, students, alumni, and community members.


A founding member of the WPI Center for Fire Safety, he also invented the SmokeGard 700, the world's first battery powered home smoke detector.

Just as Dickens's novels were published serially, so with Project Boz: the digital form of the novels appear in parts, as the work of imaging and processing is completed.
